Day 2

Today was our first day dancing. It always takes some adjusting when dancing in Italy. Something about the jet-lag I guess. We all just feel weaker and it's harder to breath. But we woke up at 8:00 AM, ate breakfast downstairs, and headed to the studio. I was excited about the breakfast because we are staying in the same hotel as last year, Hotel Mirame. It is right on the sea and cozy and quaint. The breakfast was great. We took class, ballet warm-up, then we started rehearsal, and it was sort of rough. Some of the pieces we haven't done since last semester, in the beginning of the fall. Others, we hadn't performed at all. But, we spent a lot of time on them, and tomorrow it will only get worse. We found out that Natalie was unable to fly in to Italy late and meet us. She had lost her passport earlier before the trip, like four days before, and she tried getting a new one and a later flight, but it wasn't going to work for some reason. I thought it was going to work but I guess not. So, in Cliftons words, "we all have to pull her weight". It sucks, but we will be able to pull it off.

After rehearsal, we went to eat lunch, which was basically just as much food as dinner last night! We weren't expecting that, nor were we hungry enough for that! But, you have to eat what's in front of you, it's an insult. SO! we ate. it was two entrees, and a salad. But I wasn't ready for it. After that, we went to the supermarket to get some waters and some things for lunch, so we wouldnt have to eat out everyday. Some prosciutto, cheese, bread, and bananas. (and wine, I got a bottle of white wine and a bottle of bellini. It was a tasty peach drink we had had last year). We came back to the room, and just hung out. We just talked, looked at magazines, and bonded :). It was a cloudy day so we cancelled our plans to go to the beach. It looked like it was going to rain, but it didn't. After bonding time, we got ready for dinner, and went without Clifton, giorgio, Craig Cobane and his mom. It was nice just being with the Dance Company. We went to this pizza place we went to last year. It was good. We had several different types of pizza. Then, it was cold (which it has been cool all week; really sad) so we all ended up making our way back to the hotel, and hung out in our rooms, trying our wine we got. We are just hanging out now, and about to go to bed. We all have a long day tomorrow. Italy is still fun although the weather could be warmer. I love it here. The sea is beautiful, the people are relaxed and laid back, and the atmosphere is nice. It is different than America. Well, I am going to bed. Enough for tonight. I need to take more pictures too. That is my goal for tomorrow. Ciao!
